The Fostering Team have a unique vacancy for a Supervising Social Worker to support our foster caring community and be a liaison officer for North Somerset’s Mockingbird Project.
The Role
The individual for this role will be required to be a liaison officer for Mockingbird Model which means they get training to support and give guidance to our Mockingbird Hub Foster Carers. They are very skilled and experienced carers who support and care for their satellite families. This is supported by the fostering network, and it is a well-established part of North Somerset’s fostering service.
The Supervising Social Worker will support and work alongside our Mockingbird and Training Coordinator, our permanent workforce of supervising social workers and team manager. It is a very experienced and permanent workforce. There is a reduced caseload due to ensure there is enough support to sustain, embed and expand the Mockingbird community.
We are looking for a someone who is confident in supporting carers by facilitating support groups and bring new ideas to the fostering team. As a social worker in the fostering team, you would be required to complete annual reviews, foster carer supervisions, unannounced visits, undertake assessments, be confident in matching children with vacant foster carers, ensure you are trauma informed in your approach and have knowledge of national minimum standards and safeguarding procedures.
This position is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel is an essential condition for this role.
